CERAMIC MUG MAKE-A-LONG

Join us for a creative evening where you can relax, enjoy a cuppa, meet new friends & take part in our ceramic mug make-a-long.

Studio Address;
144 High Street, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 1LX. 

In this workshop you will be guided step by step to make your own ceramic mug from stoneware clay. You will learn techniques including slab building, cross hatching to attach a funky handle and painting with underglazes. Director Lucy will make-a-long with you from rolling out your clay to building your mug before leaving you to paint your own design using underglazes. The mug will need to be fired in our kiln & will have it’s final transparent shiny glaze added by us before being ready to collect 2 – 3 weeks after the workshop (this allows time for kiln firing & shiny glazing!)

Lots of design possibilities in this workshop including the rim shape on your mug, the funky handle shape & of course your painted design. Our underglazes offer a rainbow of colours to be able to paint any design or cool pattern on your mug.

Refreshments;

Hot & cold drinks & biscuits included. If you want to bring your own refreshments/snacks please do! But please note Creative Village Studio is a NUT FREE zone.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds or swaps onto other workshops so please be sure you can make it before you book. 

Please note if we do not meet our minimum number of bookings on this workshop it may be postponed until a later date. You will be notified by email and given as much notice as we can. This happens very rarely and we do apologise if this causes any inconvenience.

Our studio is a few doors down from charity Vision 25 facing the high street, next door to Thirteen Group & formerly British Heart Foundation.
Our entrance is the black gate a few doors along from Vision 25. One of us will be at the gate greeting attendee’s to make sure you can find us. Please note the gate will close at 6pm & if you are going to be late you can call for one of us to pop down to let you in after 6pm. (Phone number will be on the follow up email you will receive a few days before you join us.

** Please note we occasionally have our studio dog, Pepper, present during workshops. She’s very friendly & usually lays in her bed pushing out the loudest snores. If this causes a problem please send us an email & Lucy can leave her at home that day **
